if you mean approved AP and pending EAD- yes . I have traveled without AP and with pending EAD. the only criteria is you need a reason to justify entry - eg H1B or L1 etc .

@mo mns what is your status in US ? are you already on EAD status or you just have a pending EAD but currently on H1B or L1 status ? if you have a pending EAD and are on EAD status, you can’t reenter into US without it . AP only allows you to leave US , to reenter you need EAD or visa depending upon your status

e@battling giants eb3 unskilled. ead and parole were approved already. I started working for the sponsor. the ead renewal is pending but we got 540days automatic extension.

ok in that case if you travel outside US when your AP is considered pending - during AP processing if the officer notices you are out of the country , they could decline the AP approval (the idea being AP allows free travel on humanitarian grounds but you are already outside the country). this does not impact your existing 485 application .

@mo mns You You don’t need the EAD to travel if you have the AP in your hand. They do not request the EAD; they only check your AP, send you to secondary inspection, and verify if you still have an I-485 pending—that’s it.

then I learnt something new today . I was under the impression that EAD is required so you can enter back into United States but it seems that’s not required as long as 485 application is pending .
