Transfer from NBC to Field Office
I spoke through Emma with an agent this morning and she told me the following: “Response was received, your case is under review by an officer, Phoenix Field Office.” I responded to an RFE about the 2023 Tax Return and they received my response on March 27, 2024; At least two weeks ago another agent had told me that my case was still being processed at NBC. What is true about this? Anyone with a similar experience?

regina 1993Jun 14, 2024
@Nadglobal Jesus Write live agent and then case status, you will be asked for your case number, then you select connect to the live chat and the agent will ask you for your information and what you want to know about your case.

ask another one. it probably is true. the fact that they gave a field office which is a new location seems promising.

@w s 🇨🇦🇺🇸 1 month ago I asked about my case and the agent was not very friendly, he told me that he had already made a query a short time ago, that there was no change in the case and he disconnected from the chat. It makes me sad to ask another agent again and have them respond unkindly.

@w s 🇨🇦🇺🇸 I followed your advice to talk to another agent, but this time I did it by phone call! The agent was very friendly and confirmed that my case is in my local office! I asked him when my case had been transferred to the local office and he told me that it has always been there! I'm confused! My receipt has NBC as the processing center and two weeks ago they told me it was processing at NBC! I do not know what to believe!

@regina1193 22 well it starts at NBC and then moves to a field office after preliminary checks from what I understand. all you can do is wait. it might even go back to NBC before approval.

@w s 🇨🇦🇺🇸 I hope to have good news soon!!at least there was a movement that gives me hope!

Look for interview. Are the you have the same address on your tax return and driver license. and if you file electronic, they can see the same thing that NBC can see in the computer and did you give them all the bank statement with both of your name on it and credit cards and each other name. seems like you been married less than two years, not over two years so look for two-year conditional card it starts the day they approve it. your question is gonna be taken off of the I 485 that you gave the attorney when you file your cases how you met and they will ask what you do for the holiday holiday Christmas and New Year’s where you and your husband met a bit sad they been married less than a year or two and they got a 10 year green card. They line, you have to be married at least two or more years. and when do you propose to each other. less than two years of marriage gets interview. but for your sake, I hope your interview will get waived.

@A B We have been married for 7 years and have 3 children. I sent everything from the beginning, except that the 2023 tax season began and they asked me for that as evidence since I had sent until 2022.
A BJun 15, 2024
congratulations!!!! 10 year green card and I saw lawyer when can you apply for your citizenship? You might be able to do that now.
A BJun 15, 2024
if you sent them everything for the past seven years that you and your husband married for you might not have no interview.
regina 1993Jun 15, 2024
@A B I can apply for citizenship after 3 years of being a permanent resident.
A BJun 15, 2024
The spouse of a U.S. citizen residing in the United States must have been living in marital union with his or her citizen spouse for at least 3 years immediately preceding the time of filing the naturalization application. This provision requires that the spouse live in marital union with the citizen spouse during the entire period of 3 years before filing.[4]
However, the statute does not require living in marital union for the period between the date of filing the application and the date of naturalization (date applicant takes the Oath of Allegiance). The corresponding regulation conflicts with the statute in stating that the spouse must have been living in marital union with his or her citizen spouse for at least 3 years at the time of the examination on the application, and not at the time of filing.

How many years you and your husband been living in the US
regina 1993Jun 15, 2024
@A B That sounds interesting! I have lived with my husband in the United States since October 2019. He applied for citizenship in January 2023.
regina 1993Jun 15, 2024
@A B I have read that one of the requirements is to at least be a legal permanent resident and live with your spouse for at least 3 years before submitting the citizenship application.
