Timeframe for Rescheduling of Oath Ceremony, San Jose
I had my interview on April 12, it was approved. On April 17 I received a letter with my Oath Ceremony scheduled for April 30. At the time I received the letter I was in Mexico. The letter stated that due to Covid-19 restrictions I had to have been in the USA 14 days prior to my ceremony to be able to attend. As there was only 13 days left to the Ceremony when I received the letter it was impossible for me to attend. The letter stated that there would be no penalty to reschedule due to Covid-19. So I called the provided number and was told to send them the letter with an explanation to why I had to reschedule, and so I did. When we got close to the date for the Oath Ceremony, I had not received any note that they had received my request for rescheduling, so I called and emailed them. The person on the phone could not confirm that they had received anything. It was really frustrating. On May 3 I then received a note stating I had failed to attend my Oath Ceremony and that I would be notefied when a new date would be scheduled. That was 6 weeks ago. I have tried to get an estimate of the timeframe for this, but they won't give me one. The last info I got was that I had to give them 90 days to process my request for rescheduling, and if approved I would receive a new date. That just seems absurd when they state their will be no penalty for rescheduling due to their Covid-19 restrictions. Due to these Covid-19 restrictions and the fact that I can't get any timeframe out of USCIS, I won't be able to travel anywhere before the Oath Ceremony has been held, which could be in 2 weeks, 3 months or more. Has anyone tried this or have any experience with a timeframe for a rescheduled Oath Ceremony? Thanks

I have been waiting for 80 days since the date of my interview. they told me that I can only follow up in 90 days. I have 11 more days to wait before I can call.

a tip for anyone struggling getting in contact with USCIS and getting any concrete info on your case and it's status. I was told by a lawyer to try contact my congressman Jimmy Panette. I went in to his homepage filled out a form, faxed and mailed it to him, a week after his office called me and asked if I had time to go the coming Saturday for my Oath Ceremony. I did and now I have my citizenship. If I had not contacted Jimmy Panetta and his office to investigate my case I suspect I would have had to wait for month. It was all free. I really appreciate it, and find it a good hack for people who feels their case is stuck in the system.

Do they work on Saturdays? I did the same with my Senator's office and they reached out to USCIS, but received the same answer: "Wait..."

hmm ok, well I hope it works out for you soon. I was just so surprised and happy over how fast it went for me getting them involved.

Oh, nice! Kudos to USCIS Santa Clara for finding creative ways to silke problems.

Does anybody know if there is a website with the Oath Ceremony schedule to understand if they do it once a month or once a week? Thanks!
