Time for Social security number after receiving EAD
Hello everyone! My EAD was approved on November 22 and I received the EAD on November 30. I reached out to USCIS and they informed that the request was social security number was submitted on November 22 to social security office. I called the toll free number as well as my local social security office but no one could tell me if they have received any request from USCIS. Can anyone tell me if there is a way to track the status of social security number or should I go to my local office and file a new application?

Ours was approved on Oct 27. Same story where neither USCIS nor SSA could confirm the request or process. I went to SSA today and applied directly.

@ S K thank you. That’s what I am planning to do. I don’t want to waste time waiting for the SSN

As per USCIS, if we don’t receive one in 2 work weeks, we have to contact SSA and proceed. Good luck @Yash!
