i call uscis and now they are saying that from day one my case is in texas but in the receipt it says potomac

I really wouldnt worry where your case is. People spend far too much time worrying where their file is.

if u dont worry about where our cases are how will we know we are out of processing time and then go ahead and file an erequest for out of processing time..i think its very worth it to know where your case is at every point in time..ive literally seen cases get missing with USCIS..so your eyes better follow any new activity that happens on your case

i still think your worrying about something that only matters 1.5 -2 years after you filed your case until then i wouldnt worry. it could be moved around 3 or 4 times before it evens gets to a field office. you rely on the fact that information when you contact USCIS is up to date its not. if they have lost it you would never know phoning the call center...

my question is why were SO many cases transferred from Potomac? Allegedly my case is there and I got no notice it was transferred and it still says being actively reviewed for months now

thats normal. some cases get moved some stay there. depends if uscis decides to move some cases to quieter service centers.
