Pd November 18th 2020. I received my EAD card last Monday.

I have Texas DL (Houston) without EAD or SSN. I got one year license based on pending application for AOS.

@Eugenia: This is wrong information. I don't have SSN or EAD. my case is pending, I have one year drivers license. The one officer who told you may not know nothing at all.

@Samran Ali Malik: which documents did you use for proof of identity? I am stuck there because my old passport with the visa expired. I got a new passport but it doesn't have a visa in it.

Afro: Take both passports with. Take I-94 with you. Take your Alien # & MSC Receipts with you. If they say no, tell them to run SAVE Verification. SAVE Verification takes a week and they will send you a letter that it has been verified and you can visit the DL Office to get your DL renewed. Also, They will give you SAVE Verification case # which you can review online. once you see it has been sent to DPS / DMV, you call them and the check the status instead of waiting on the letter for the DPS. nevertheless, SAVE VERIFICATION IS THE KEY. If they don't do it, that means that they don't know nothing.

I would just say do your research over internet and be prepared to argue with the agent if they don't listen. I did research for a week to understand. luckily, my dmv agent was nice.

I went to the one at Rosenberg because Gessner's appointment time was a lot. The important thing to note is SAVE Verification. This is very important. You guys can give me a call and I can explain you.

DMV doesn't matter. What matters is the knowledge of the agent at DMV and how well can you explain them the situation with proof of documents.

Yes but DMV provides the license on the basis of your lawful presence in US. Since you have EAD and you applied for I-485 which was accepted, hence it proves your lawful presence in US and they should run SAVE VERIFICATION to prove that.

you should be able to get a driver's license. but avoid gessner. they are busy and won't deal with specific issues in my experience. both Rosenberg and one up north have always been able to help and are more patient about more complicated applications.

@samran Ali, you were right. I went there and it was processed with my EAD without Ssn. I did the computer test already. now I have the final road test this week. thanks a lot for your help.
