hey i was in that same situation, you will need to file an ITIN for your dependent and file your taxes as married at the same time, you need to get with people that prepare taxes to do it for you, and as long as you have the filling documents you can use that as a proof, because IRS takes like 16 weeks to review your taxes

How do I file taxes with an ITIN? Filing taxes can serve as proof of “good moral character” in immigration cases. Filing taxes could be helpful for your immigration case if you are able to adjust your status in the future. To file a tax return, you must enter your ITIN in the space for the SSN on the tax form, complete the rest of the return, and submit the tax return (along with any additional forms) to the IRS.

Who is Head of Household? Taxpayers may qualify for the Head of Household filing status, if they: • Are unmarried or “considered unmarried” on the last day of the tax year, and • Paid more than half the cost of keeping up a home for the required period of time, and • Had a qualifying person living in their home for more than half the year (except for temporary absences, such as school) A qualifying person who is the taxpayer’s dependent parent does not have to live with the taxpayer. However, the parent(s) must qualify as the taxpayer’s dependent(s) for the taxpayer to qualify as Head of Household without using the multiple support provision (Form 2120, Multiple Support Declaration). For more information, review the Volunteer Resource Guide, Tab B, Starting a Return and Filing Status, Who is a qualifying person for Head of Household status? For a married taxpayer to be “considered unmarried,” there are special rules, discussed later in this topic.

yes definitely at the long run you can apply for a bank joint account, put them on a lease agreement of anything related for marriage life and it is more proofs for immigration purposes to prove your marriage is bona fide. have all the chances on your side for immigration purposes
