I have a friend he is a citizen and he refilled that form I 824 it's been more than a year that he is waiting for a decision

I sent them my I-824 also and I haven’t heard back. it’s been about a month now.

how and where did they respond to you? what’s lockbox? was it through NVC or USCIS?

824 will usually take about 3-4 months if you submitted for the sake of I-130 mistake follow up

if you left them empty, expect an approval within 3 to 4 months. if you picked them both, it will take one year or more to approve it

I left both empty and took 11 months

@keshia soso we filled up both adjustment of status and Consuler Processing mistakenly in form i-130, so they retained. thanks, hope it approves faster iA 😭

@August 12 2022 email on lockboxsupport@uscis.dhs.gov and ask about your case, mention the date you mailed them. All the best.

@August 12 2022 we submitted through USPS to USCIS lockbox address in AZ. they mailed receipt notice after almost a month, it's processing now.

is it possible that the USCIS makes mistakes? because I remember mentioning that I child will apply visa at the country of birth meaning at the ambassy but they still refer me to this I824 🥹

@japhet Kuli double check if you select consulate processing, adjustment of status, both options or if you select none. don't waste your time otherwise your case won't go anywhere.

@ fk fj I requested a copy of my I 130 hopefully they will sent it to me to be able to double check but I am sure I did mentioned where I would like my child to apply visa at NVC in the meantime I went ahead and just filed i824 as they want . thank you 🙏
