Subject: Anyone experiencing the same 221(g) situation at U.S. Embassy Manila?
Hello everyone, I’m currently under 221(g) administrative processing. My passport is still being held by the U.S. Embassy Manila, and the CEAC status remains “Refused.” My interview was on September 19, 2025. The letter I received states that my case is under administrative processing, and when I asked at the helpdesk counter, they mentioned it could take 2–3 weeks to check, but until now there has been no update. Would it be advisable to call the embassy hotline, since email inquiries are not being replied to? I would greatly appreciate hearing about your timeline, updates, or experiences if you are in a similar situation. Thank you so much for your help.

It depends on the reason for the administrative processing. I know people who went through the same situation while in the Middle East—some received approval within a couple of months, while others remained under administrative processing for up to five months. Long story short, if there are no criminal, fraud, or similar issues, there is no need to worry—you should receive your approval soon.
