student visa - married LPR - combo card approved (filled when was current)
currently I’m a student under F1 visa. my husband is a green card holder. I understand I have to maintain my student visa until my green card is approved and I have no intention of stopping school as well. But I’m worried if I tell my school if they will cancel my student visa and then I’ll become out of status losing the chance of getting my green card.
Should I tell my school that I have my EAD combo approved or no?

don’t need to tell anything and you can still maintain your F1 status until you get your gc

If you use your EAD card to work outside of campus, then you will lose your F1 student status. I let my school know about my EAD card and they told me as long as I don’t use it for work, I am fine.

@Karen MB you will never be out of status. because you have a petition pending… the only thing that is advisable is to keep your F1 status in case you have a negative outcome of your process. if your combo card has been approved means you are free to go in and out of the country and also work. they say always keep your F1 status because lets say if your i-485 is denied for some reason, your combo cards becomes inactive. so if you dont keep your f1 status you would basically become illegal.
from the moment you start your process you are no longer seen as F1… it is just advisable to don’t violate the terms of your F1 in case of a negative outcome of your gc application so you have a “fall back” / plan b.

don't listen to the wrong information from @aliserce q
you are doing the right thing by maintaining your F-1 status until your green card is approved. https://hackinglawpractice.com/can-my-spouse-adjust-if-i-am-an-lpr/#:~:text=If%20you%20are%20married%20to,time%20of%20your%20actual%20adjustment.
