STEPCHILD CONCERN:
Can anyone explain if it’s possible for my husband to petition my child (out of wedlock)? or He needs to adopt my child first before He can file a petition???

Hi sweetheart no he doesn't have to adopt your child my husband filed a petition for my son at the sametime he did mine and a week after getting approved for my work permit my son got his petition approved. My son is his stepchild and he is 8 years old.

He can petition for your child as far as you both got married before your child turns or turned 18.

yes he can file for your child without adopting him. but your child has to be 17 or less when u guys got married.
