Stay Current without Approval beyond Fiscal Year
Hi all, Please is there a possibility that someone in RoW who is current, for example, by May or June will not get i485 approved before end of September (Fiscal year) and the available visa is wasted? Any experience here to share?

@DA AR....this is interesting. What it means is that USCIS doesn't actually work to use all visas available in a fiscal year. What a pity!

@Rijo Rijo it just means that more people are current then visas are available as they also consider a certain fallout / denials / rfe‘s / longer processing times. Same reason the dv lottery has twice as many winners as green cards or flights are sometimes overbooked

@Mr Doe, nice analogy! I bet this is more evident in categories like EB2 RoW. I just think preference category like EB1 RoW wouldn't experience such due to less traffic. Does this my thought seem to make any sense?

I have always wondered the same. When my date became current in Jan24, I thought I was finally in the finish line, but learning in this app that… nope! still long way to go

@ggpp ppgg, not sure if this is due to the amount of traffic in a certain preference category. For example, the amount of traffic in EB1 RoW isn't the same forvEB2 RoW. What do you think?

@Ellie Bdy 🍀, this is truly concerning. Did you reach out to USCIS or raise a service request? This is superbly unusual and alarming! Did you receive an RFE or any correspondence from USCIS that is still pending?

@Ellie Bdy 🍀 , I don't even know what to say other than: You are strong! But it will end with praise!
