Starting a business in the USA
Hey guys, Does any of you know if we are allowed to start a business and run it if we are on a conditional green card? Or is it safer to have the 10 year GC and removed the conditions?

My concern is more about what could happen to the business if the conditions are not met in two years to remove it and have a 10 year green card?

If you got denied after you open an business. You have to close the business or pass to another person to manage it. But don't think about that, everything is gonna be perfect

ok thanks guys. I’m thinking about an S Corp. it will involve quite some long term clients and I don’t want to be in trouble in two years if something happens

if you can show immigration you contribute to the country by starting a business and paying taxes… that makes you look favorable when the time comes to remove conditions. I know during my marriage based green card interview (2 year card) the officer spoke a lot of contributing to the country. You can absolutely start on a 2 year card and it’s actually better to do imo. One of the biggest things immigration officers do is make sure you aren’t a burden
