Standalone i-485 - still waiting
One year has passed and no word or any update on this. I have completed all the RFE requirements they asked February 1, 2024 and up to now, I haven't heard whether I will be interviewed or not or at most, a case decision. Can I already try to call and inquire about this? This is so frustrating. Mine is at the NBC and it has been sitting there since February 1, 2024. I wonder if they really did some review on the RFE i sent because in the USCIS website, it indicates two receipt dates in the Case Status of my response to RFE documents - February 1, 2024 on the topmost and another small text with a green check below which is October 8, 2024. I don't know which is which. Does anyone here have a similar experience?

@Maria Bonita Hi, the two dates indicate different things. The February date is the date NBC received it. The October date is when it was actually looked at by a person. Adter this happens, your application is transferred to a field office. NBC does not adjudicate 485. Only a field office does. You will not be notified on your account that it has been transferred.
The various offices across the country have vastly different backlogs. So it is high dependent on which field office yours will go to. You can look up the times.
Call USCIS and say infopass until you get a person. You can ask if your file was transferred.
My application was approved about 10 days after it was transferred.
Hope this helps.

My PD is in August 2023, received RFE in June 28,2024, response since July 1,2024 and nothing since. 😢

@Maria Bonita you wrong NBC can approve your case they just need to request ur case file at it local office . if NBC send ur case to field office it means the adjudicated officer believes you need an interview before approval.. any adjudication officer can approve ur cases regardless where ur case is located.infact processing center has more adjudicating officer than the field office

@Kingsley B thank you for this info. yes, i am actually planning to call USCIS just after new years. it's just odd how long it already has been since my last update it's almost a year and I have received nothing if they still need something from me. I think I am just waiting for a decision. I really need to make this call and inquire. Thank you

@Dee Dee I know how frustrating this really seems. I pray and hope we do get answers to our cases soon. This time we need to be proactive and really try to do some follow-ups. All the best for both of us! ❌

@freeman 1 Yeah i agree with you as well. Hope is all we have right now. NBC processing times right now are at 19.5 months. I'm on my 13th month. I hope adjucation would be just around the corner 🤞🏻
