Hi everyone after receiving your work permit how long to wait for your social security number it's being over a month now I'm waiting

You need to take the work permit to the SSN office and apply for it.

You don’t have to take your work permit to the SSA, if you checked the box for it to be mailed to you on your I-765. If you didn’t check that box, then you have to take it to the SSA office, which is currently closed. You may need to call them.

@Anastasia wow that's great from I received my combo card over a month now no ssn but I call the ssa office they say they gonna get back with me to make and appointment

call ss office to make sure they got ur info
I checked the box on my i765 n didnt get it when I call ss office they said my info wasnt sent over
so give them a call

I've been waiting for over a month . I received ss in October 2020
