Spousal sponsorship timeline for green card holders
I recently got married abroad, and my husband currently lives outside the U.S. I’m a permanent resident (green card holder) and want to start his immigration process.
For those who went through this recently—how long did the I-130 process take for you? And did anything help speed things up? I’d appreciate any advice or shared experiences.

@Yetta C so your spouse’s case will come under F2A category because you are an Green card holder filing for spouse. So, assuming you file today it takes almost 2-3 year for I-130 & I-485 to get approve. caveat, if you become a Citizen in the mean time then, you should tell USCIS to upgrade your case to an IR-1, for IR-1 there are unlimited visas available so it speeds up your process.
*advice: File I-130 as soon as possible, then as soon as your PD becomes current under *Date for filing table under Table B of family-sponsored VB* file their I-485 along with medical reports + supporting documents (YouTube: kseniya international) for I-485 list as well. Then you will need to wait for *Date for final action under Table A of family-sponsored VB* to become current for case adjudication. In the meantime if you become citizen tell USCIS to upgrade you to IR-1 ASAP this helps a lot.
How to get update on your case during this process: (Level: easier to difficult)
1) you can do congressional inquiry for update on your case.
2) you can directly ask USCIS to expedite your case if your situation comes under their “acceptable reasons for expediting” this list is present if you search in google under USCIS.
3) finally, if your case is not adjudicated even after the VB has become current then file Writ of mandamus for expedited processing. This forces USCIS to act on your case.
