So tired…
Hey guys , I have a question that may sound strange but I know that in a small number of cases it’s feasible… Since visa bulletin has slow down completely , and who knows when it will be our turn for approval , I am wondering if anyone managed to get a tourist visa while in the process for family visa, so that they can at least visit their family ?

If you are from a country that is doing visa waiver (ESTA), it is definitely possible. I just visited my husband in the US on ESTA with a pending petition. At the border, the applicants just have to prove strong ties to their home country (job, school, etc.). I don’t know how it works with actual tourist visas.

they approved (renewed b1/b2) visa for my wife. we mentioned on the form that we are consular processing and our i130 is under review. we provided the file #. they approved the visa without an interview. I will update you when my wife visits us next year and tell you the experience with CBP. wishing you all the best
