Should payroll continue in STEM OPT in I-485 processing?
Hi everyone! I am in a dilemma whether should I continue to run payroll and need to let my DSO report for STEM OPT progress, or should not bother about it anymore? Here is my context, in May 2021 my wife (in F2 visa) filed for I-485 in EB3 other category and I am her dependent (but I am maintaining F1 visa status and currently in my STEM OPT extension period). Our file in TSC and she will start working for the employer after we get GC EAD or GC approval either that comes first. Now, can I stop updating my school DSO or reporting for working under an e-verified company with payroll or still need to continue for an e-verified company? we only had I-140 approved (premium processing) and biometrics done 4 months ago and no updates since last 8 months of I-485 application. Until you get your GC or activate EAD upon receipt, you should continue updating your sevis by providing information/progress report to the DSO. Not doing such could result in the cancelation of the SEVIS.
