Service Request
In 2024, I filed my C09 work permit renewal in a timely manner(2 years ago). Thus, I received a 540 day extension which expires this coming week. I contacted USCIS about it and they admitted that my petition was far outside of the processing time(which is 12 months), and filed a service request to assign it to an officer. Has anyone experienced this same type of delay? And if you filed a service request, to what extent did that speed up the approval/decision time?

i filled multiple service requests, called uscis and they told me the same thing they told you. i went as far as filing an expedite request with my local congressman and the expedite got approved. still waiting for my EAD card to get approved. been a month since my EAD expired.

I’m glad I saved up a good bit over the past years. I guess I might be unemployed for a while. My lawyer refilled another work permit petition a week ago, still haven’t heard anything.
