May God enlighten the minds of those in power so they can at least help those who will be forced to leave the country due to this backlog. This situation does not change anything for those who have applied for residency and are still waiting for a decision. In the meantime, we will witness our loved ones growing older and even passing away without our physical presence. It is excruciating to be able to help everyone but to be prevented from supporting our own family during emergencies simply because we lack a valid travel document (when it is not our fault). We gladly have chosen to live and serve in this country, yet we are paying a hefty price due to bureaucracy and inefficiency. Dear colleagues, do not hesitate to ask for better treatment. We are not here to take; we are here to give. Instead of exploiting government resources, we contribute to them. Our blessed work is not only religious but also social. How much money do governmental agencies and the health system save because of our efforts within the communities and families, in places where the government cannot be effective? We provide relief for those who cannot afford help, and we prevent so many bad things from happening because we counsel, we disciple, and we help people to make better choices. We came to this country with a mission, guided by God. Let us continue to pray for our authorities, as the Bible instructs, so they may find just solutions to the immense problems they face. Keep your faith in God, who sees you and understands what you are going through, my friend. Soon, we will be vindicated.
