@L D yes! ask questions such as, where is it currently at? what should the next step be? when should I expect to hear something back? how come others that applied after me are getting decisions? is there anything on your end you can tell me? on the USCIS website and on Lawfully they won’t show you much, before I got the news it only said it was actively being reviewed, but I bothered the agents so much that they finally gave me something different “your case is ready for the decision to be made on it.”. I still don’t have news on my I-485 but when I asked the agent she said “your form I-485 is ready to be scheduled for an interview”, hopefully I’ll got news on that soon as well!

Jackie would this apply for k1 visas as well call them everyday until they check my case ?😅

@orlando cordero I would think and hope so lol, I know I’m definitely going to keep bothering them until I get the decision, I feel like it raises a flag for them to just get your case done asap so that they don’t have to keep hearing from you 😅 this is the only way I’ll ever bring up my Karen side lmao

🤣🤣🤣 320 days waiting for uscis to approve my case 2 times visit my fiance country and 1 time we went together to dominican republic like honestly Idk what else they need to investigate 🥲 so many people breaking up because wait time and me just increasing the debt on my credit card 😅

@orlando cordero Lmao I totally get it, it’s ridiculous how much they don’t really care about our cases, I understand that the volume can be huge but you cannot tell me it should take months or even years to just look at the packet, make sure everything is good and move on, I swear they review one case a day because honestly it’s just silly the processing time

This just gave me.. a little hope... I have been following others, with same timeline as my PD and service center. Today some of those people were approved and I am still in active reviewing. This is ridiculous. been waiting 336 days.😔

@orlando cordero if you feel like calling is too much you can always text thru Emma on the USCIS website, I feel like in writing you can express a little bit and holds the agent a little longer to your conversations. I know for a fact I only actually called them twice, the rest was only through Emma and that’s where I got a lot more info and answers. I feel like on the phone the agents are kind of rude, and the attorneys are not much help either, there really isn’t much in their powers that they can do to accelerate anything, that why they only tell us to be patient. But I’m sure the longer you hold the agents through the chat the more they’ll be over you and will give you something to satisfy you.

@Olive O it can definitely feel like it’s not fair, especially when you see others who applied after you already getting decision! it’s ridiculous! but please please have faith and trust your gut and go after those agents, if we don’t poke them they never do anything!

@orlando cordero when you go on the USCIS website, on the top right corner when you scroll a bit should pop up “have a question? ask Emma” that’ll open up a small chat, ask her to speak with a live agent, she will then ask for what case, and ask for your receipt number, then she’ll connect you with an agent who you will be able to ask all of your questions, they will be annoying and say you should wait, but keep flooding them with more different types of questions, even silly ones like “which center is it at?” with their answers keep asking more until you get something, some days I can pull up a lot from them, other days not so much, but keep trying everyday and eventually they won’t even ask you to confirm your name, date of birth and stuff and will give you some info

I believe you can chat anytime of the day, but I usually do it around noon

@Jackie how did you even get a live agent on Emma?

@Oldrich Duty first thing you should ask Emma is “speak to a live agent” she will ask you for which case (there will be options), in my case it’s green card, and then she will ask if you have a case with USCIS you click yes and then she will ask for receipt number and then give you option to speak to a live agent

Jackie Santana what did you usually select after saying live agent. Emma sometimes don’t let you and ask you to select different option that won’t let you talk to an agent

@fd di first thing you should type when you open the chat is “speak to a live agent”, then she will pop up a big blue box saying “in order to find someone who can help you, please select the topic of the information you are looking for.” and then there will be options, my case I clicked on green card, and the will pop up another box saying “if you would like to connect with a live agent representative please select one of the links below” then you click on “connect to live chat”, then you just follow the next instructions she gives you

Hi @jackie Santana. You’re inspired me to try “Emma-Live Agent” however they told me that only Vermont Service Center can answer my questions and they don’t have any information regarding my case. Did your initial contact with Emma was this dismissive ? Or were they helpful from the get-go?

@ Bear Little- I contacted USCIS today also and my conversation was ...very dismissive and short. The agent carefully worded and conducted the conversation. I was able to verify my processing center and I asked if any documents were currently outstanding. The agent let me know that "processing was going well". I asked for an estimated decision date and was told only an officer could make that decision and the conversation was ended. I'm just hoping that.... initiating a call makes them... push your case....forward and take action.🙏🏿

it took me many tries of conversations to get a good answer. Like I said, I bothered them so much that they finally gave me something, but it definitely took many dismissive answers and shutting off conversations for no reason get to that point. I would say definitely keep trying.
