RFE Response
Hi everyone I got an RFE last month for a birth certificate and resubmit form I864. In the RFE they asked only for the year 2023 tax return however, he did not file taxes for 2021 and 2022 due to unemployment because of the pandemic. he has been working since end of November 2022, and makes double the poverty guidelines. what should I do about the years he didn’t file. Also should I get a joint sponsor? I’m very apprehensive about it as I don’t want to risk denial.

you can get them the 2023 tax return and fill a joint sponsor too incase so they won’t deny you
you don’t want to risk it by starting afresh

@w s 🇨🇦🇺🇸 he had no income that’s why he didn’t file for both years

@leo kudos he made enough in 2023 and 2024, but yes we might just go for a joint sponsor

@Na67755 M it only matters the last year I believe. you still have to file taxes even if you have no income.
