RFE Medicals
Received RFE for medical for polio vaccine. Did a blood test which proved I have immunity. Civil surgeon requested I take the Hepatitis B vaccine and respond to the RFE. I took one shot of the the vaccine at Walgreens and sent the forms to USCIS. I scheduled a second shot of the Hep B vaccine for next moth. My question is will USCIS approve my application with one shot of the Hep B vaccine or will they wait until I send proof of the second shot?

I have seen people get an RFE for the completion of the medical. you could try uploading your second shot to unsolicited evidence to avoid that but I’m not sure if it has to be reviewed by a civil surgeon or not. @zach Tah

@W S CAUS, I read some people were approved only with one shot of Hep B. Even the requirement only lists one shot. Anybody experienced this?

@zach Tah so did you have to get a whole new medical because yours was expired? or did you just not have polio and they asked for it? curious because I sent in my medical in 2023 before it was required and I’m wondering if they’re asking everyone to get it (I didn’t get it as a kid based on my records). thanks!

@W S, My medical were submitted in 2022 and expired. Polio was marked “Not age appropriate”. Apparently, Polio and Hepatitis B are required now. I paid for an entire new physical, blood test for polio, which came back positive, and got vaccinated for Hepatitis B.
