He has always had a work permit. During his J-2 and during the green card process. Maybe it’s regarding the income. But why didn’t I get an RFE? I’m still waiting for a response from our lawyer.

We were J-1 and J-2 but we have had the I-765 since they expired last July.

While your I-485 is pending. He is not allowed to work. The previous j2 ead is automatically expired when applying for adjustment of status

Ah ok, I did'nt know that. For me it was j2 ead then I stopped working when moving to H4 until I got my new ead c09, I start a new job
