There are occasions when they might lose the documents you ve already submitted. It also depends on the wordings they used in the notice you received. If it clearly states you need a translated version, then they either lost the one you sent or the one you sent wasn’t properly translated ( i.e. still has foreign words in it). Make sure you prepare the doc, connect with your lawyer to verify what’s missing. Make sure also to check the uscis reciprocity portal which Birth certificate they accept for your country (long version/ or short).
