hello lawfully family, can someone tell me how much do lawyers charge for respoding RFE, uscis is just looking for some basic stuff, i dint want to do it myself and take any chance, my attorney who filed for my i-130 wante $2000,is it a reasonable price?, i think he is over charging me, need your suggestion, thank you in advace .

dallas texas, Rfe is for proof of birth certificate, parents marraige certificate, stuff like that .

depends what's the RfE can be lawyer faults.maybe he forgot to send something with the initial filling forms.so you can fight with that

@Niraj you don't need a lawyer for stuff like that. You can collect it yourself!!! the use of a lawyer is when u have a difficult case

Look for a paralegal who works with immigration. It's overpriced. My lawyer charge me $500 and I split the price.

You shouldn’t pay $2000 just for somebody to respond to your RFE. Just write a letter explaining everything you put, attach the RFE letter and send back. no big deal

@a l, I have a lawyer and I was issued an RFE. Sometimes they don't know what they are doing or they're not too focused on your case because they have other cases working on(which is wrong).

@niraj, you shouldn't need a lawyer to do something so basic. I can understand if it was a rfe for affidavit of support or something like that, but it's not. If you need help in preparing the rfe, you can watch videos on youtube, there are very informative videos there.

The USCIS has made it very clear , simple and easy for you to everything without a lawyer. if you can't write English ok. if you can read and write, no need to throw your money away. They are desperate to the extent they are all over YouTube and other places scaring people with lies. they know nothing about what goes on in uscis offices.
