Removal proceedings
do I-130 applications usually take time for people who have been in removal proceedings? I would like to hear your opinion to inform my next decision :) #removal #removalproceedings

From personal experience and also what I know from close friends who were in removal proceedings, the I130 does not get affected, USCIS DOES have jurisdiction to approve the I130 alone. USCIS does NOT have jurisdiction to decide on I485, so for that your lawyer needs to do a joint motion with government so the judge can terminate removal .

19 months for me and that’s with a lot of effort (not just doing nothing ) for I-130 approval
