same situation. filed August 2020. Biometrics done in June 2021 and case was updated a day after. Recently qualified for an e-inquiry cos my case is out of normal processing time and submitted. Yet to receive any response...

yes I thought so too but I’m also applying for an adjustment of status as I got married and I have the interview for that this week so I kinda just thought they knew and green card kind of trumps a student visa

i applied in November 2020 got bio in July 2021. filed a mandamus against USCIS in January. got an RFE now we are waiting on them to work on it

interesting. what field office and how do you file a mandamus?

Vermont SC. I filed it with a immigration attorney. it’s basically a lawsuit that gets send to the US attorney to inform that USCIS is taking way too long to review a case. we filed it on January 13 and on the 27 the sent a RFE asking for documents they already have. they typically do it to buy more time. we just send the RFE documents and they asked for us to dismiss the lawsuit, they will give us monthly updates but we need to stop the lawsuit and basically they can take as much time as they want. I said no and gave them 30 days more. I’m graduating in July

yea that why we filed the mandamus. reinstatements are not supposed to take that long.

i asked a live agent. my situation falls under humanitarian reasons. I’m not sure if they are going to approve or reject the expedite request though. im probably going to hear back from them in 7 days regarding the request. i have family members who are ill and old, and I really need to visit them. I’m not sure if they will ask for documentations, but I will have my family’s medical information ready.

@liliana may I know how much you paid in total? (getting an attorney, filing a lawsuit etc.)

it was $2500 in total including court fees. it’s pretty expensive but if you find a good lawyer it’s worth it.

@safiatou when you enter your receipt number on your USCIS account, it will say which service center is processing your case

did everyone see that the USCIS at VSC just updated the processing time for reinstatement? the receipt date for a case inquiry is April 12, 2020. it’s ridiculous.

insane!! yesterday it was September 2020, now it’s April 2020 🤦🏻‍♀️ the estimated time range is 15.5-23.5 months.

how is it possible to take more than 2 years for a simple reinstatement?? they are ridiculous

and some students are out of statues without their fault, and now they have to wait 2 years just to get reinstated…

and they can’t do anything with a pending reinstatement. they can’t apply for CPT or OPT. i wasn’t able to do CPT for my masters because of the reinstatement being pending

ugh that must’ve sucked, liliana. but you got yours approved so that’s a huge stress off the chest. i gotta apply for opt soon, and all I can do is wait now 🤦🏻‍♀️

@joris I did, but they denied the expedite request (which I expected but still requested anyway). i contacted the congressman’s office, and they have sent in a request to help expedite the case for me. we are still waiting to hear back (usually around 30 days)

yes I did, only some documents from the doctor’s office though. i could not obtain the full medical record because it will take at least 3 months

No, however I am following cases around mine and so far 76 have been approved, 27 denied, 8 RFE and 9 pending. Mine is from Jun 21, so I believe that in 2 week I will have an update.

what RFE should one update, the one which is clear is to show evidence that i am a full time student..The others is telling me to show info from my country of residence like bank accounts, bills(rent,telephone), letter from parent that i reside with, letter from my gorv! I dont have home bank account but i have one here that i uploaded when filling...please help me understand exactly what to RFE

i have a question, on the usis website my case been stuck, in Finger print fee receive, even after i done the fingerprint is it normal? been 11 months now

yes it’s normal. my case is exactly the same. i got my biometrics done and it’s still showing fingerprint fee was received. i asked a live chat agent just in case, and the agent said it’s updated on their system including the biometrics. you can ask a live chat agent just in case if you’re worried. @joris

so if i want to know my real casr statue, i need to contacts usis?? Because yesterday my school DSO told me she got a SEVIS email, saying that that Uscis sent me a RFE. but when i check my case on UsCis it says fingerprints taken

@C P, am so glad that you are willing to ask that for me.. They gave me upto 3weeks to upload the evidences, but if i get the clerity of this, i can go fast! So the main one is for me to show that am pursuing a full course of study( which i am)...i can get the letter from DSO. My main headache comes when i read this second part...Residence abroad;telephone bills,mortgage/rent(i dont pay bills at home for heavens sake),letter from government of identification, bank account,letter from my parents that i reside with,etc!..they want so much evidence!I am so confused on what to provide...
