RECEIVED THE SAME NOID TWICE
I received a NOID 7 months a ago for bonafide of relationship and responded within two weeks. USCIS has been radio silent since then, till the month of December when my case went to actively being reviewed. December 2nd I saw an update that said NOTICE OF USCIS ACTION WAS MAILED and today I saw the same NOID that I got and responded to seven months ago in the document tab. This one is due in January with the same 30 days to respond, it is basically a copy and paste of the last one except with different dates. So I’ll be responding to them again!

What’s going on is that USCIS basically hit the “refresh” button on your case like someone who forgot they already sent the email, and instead of moving forward they issued the exact same NOID again because either the officer changed, the file got reassigned, or the response you sent months ago never got fully reviewed or wasn’t properly uploaded into the decision workflow, and now they’re giving you a fresh 30-day deadline because they legally have to let you respond again before denying anything, which actually protects you even though it feels messy and annoying. What you can do is treat this like a second chance to slam-dunk the case by re-submitting your entire original NOID response plus everything updated and extra that proves the relationship is real, think joint taxes, leases, bills, photos, affidavits, timeline of your relationship, whatever has grown in the last seven months, and you should include a cover letter politely but firmly stating that you already responded to the previous NOID and you are resubmitting all evidence again to make sure the officer has everything in the record this time; upload it online and mail the hard copy so nothing “mysteriously disappears,” and if you want to level up you can also file a service request or ask a congressional office to verify that USCIS actually logs your response this time. Don’t panic — this isn’t a denial, it’s USCIS being USCIS, basically giving you another window to fight for your case, and as long as you respond thoroughly and on time, you’re still in the game.
