Realistic wait time for EB3-EW (PD 09/05/2025)
Hi everyone, I just started the EB3-Other Workers process this month (my priority date is September 5, 2025, Spain)
I’m trying to understand realistically when I might become current in the Visa Bulletin. I know there’s a backlog and that it depends on demand and visa availability, but I honestly don’t know how many cases are still pending before my date or what the average waiting time looks like.
Based on your experience or knowledge, when do you think my priority date could become current?

personally I keep tracking of approved cases. let’s say recently someone shares his/her green card news and its PD is Jun 2021. then I assume the cases in 2021 are being approved now in 2025 so 4 years wait time is inevitable or more. but it approximately gives you the picture. just my opinion tho.

I understand that the current backlog looks very heavy, but I’m curious:
why do you think it will take more than 6–8 years for a 2025 PD to be current, if right now the backlog is estimated at around 4 years?
Is it mainly because of the huge number of filings in 2022-4 or do you also expect demand to stay the same or even grow in the next few years?

@September 5 2025 I don’t mean to offend you but think about it. My PD is 06/2021 and it took me 4 years 3 months to got approved. Your PD is 09/2025 which is 4.5 years after mine and not counting the heavier backlog from 2022, 2023. So how long do you think your case will take? I don’t even count if your LC gets audited or retrogression happens again. I’d say at least 9 years buddy.😅

@September 5 2025 priority date for EB3 was retrogressed in 2022... USCIS knew there were already a backlog because USCIS were looking at 2020/2021 numbers and felt it was no problem.. they had to retrogress everything when 2022 numbers started rolling in.
2022/23 numbers are alot... I mean alot... it might take 3 to 4 years to clear these two years.
If you have not paid huge amount, I'll advise you to look at another category.
Except you are willing to wait for 8 years... there's no hope there.. it's the truth!
