reagarding form i184a
hello, I would REALLY appreciate anyone‘s input on this! my question is related to whether or not I am supposed to fill out form i184a. My dad may be my joint sponser. we live in a three floor house but on different floors. However, on our taxes, I filed independent and am not part of his household. Am I still supposed to fill out form i184a or no? I would appreciate anyone‘s input!

Form I-864A for Affidavit of Support co-sponsor? I am not at NVC yet and I will not need co-sponsor however, in my understanding, if your income is not enough to sponsor your beneficiary, you need co-sponsor. If your father can help you, since you guys filed independently, you may be able to use your father as independent. (In my understanding, filing taxes -- you can't claim someone who supported herself/himself more than half even they live in same house but you can claim someone whom you supported more than half even he/she lives somewhere else). But seek other opinion
