I live in Houston, Texas, but when I spoke with Emma on live chat, she told me that it’s at the Tampa Field Office, even though I have never lived in Florida.

You had to go to the interview. Otherwise, they'll consider it a deserted case.

So it depends on the field office how busy they are. I know people who get their status case has been scheduled from ready to be scheduled within a week… but that’s a good sign means they don’t need any RFE because initial review has been completed… good luck

@Oscar Ortiz Hi! I have a quick question! For the green card interview, what kind of questions are you going to be asked? Is there any extra security checks by the time you do an interview? Also, is your case also based on grant of asylum more than 1 year ago if you don’t mind me asking?

The interview has not been scheduled yet. I was granted asylum by the court in September 2023, and I applied for the green card in March 2024.I don’t know if anyone is aware of the nature of the questions, but if so, please share them with us.

The request for evidence was regarding a medical exam that I did not attach to the I-485.

i just applied for my green card two weeks ago after asylum a year god willing everything going faster I just got approved for my travel documents I’m planning to go to Canada when my green card is pending I don’t know if it’s safe or not hopefully everything will be okay

@Oliver Farm last year in April but they didn’t give me the approval until I submitted my green card application

@silvya Khalil same with me. I also waited until after a year before applying for green card but I’ve seen so many that applied months after their asylum and some are getting approved just at their one year mark

@Oliver Farm they keep telling me I have to wait for the whole year or it will be denied

@silvya Khalil that’s exactly what my lawyer told me. I was even afraid of doing my medical earlier

@Oliver Farm no just start with your medical because it will take time with appointment and all this stuff
