Random Issuance of Green Card
Hello All,
USCIS is approving green card application completely randomly. someone I know got approved by court judge in July 2024, applied for GC in June 2025 and got their green card in August 2025. they literally got their GC in 2 months after applying. didn’t even wait a year after case granted date to apply. (San Francisco court, country of origin somewhere in South Asia).
this actually is a good news if you take it that way. as there’s hope tha t those of us waiting can get thei GC any day now.
I got approved by San Francisco court judge in Jan 2024. applied for GC in Jan 2025 and I’m still waiting.
good luck to everyone.
A request- please post any news of GC approval and their timeline you get from anyone(not just your case)

people who applied after waiting 1 year of asylum approved date, tend to get green card early(but not all the time, majority are random)

Yeah, I think the reason for those early approvals is that USCIS wants to keep their average processing time low. So they approve some applications that were filed like 3–6 months ago. But because of that, a lot of other cases end up stuck for years. Basically, they apply FIFO to some cases, probably at random.
