Hello people! can you contact your state senator or representative to ask for help expediting your case IF you’re not a US citizen. My lawyer told me you have to be a US citizen to ask for help from your state senator or representative

@Angry Lion I put in a service request to uscis and they told me due to workload factors my case is expected to be delayed, can I still contact my state senator or rep for help?

Listen to you lawyer. They know the law better than the people on here. If you are not a citizen, then you don’t have a senator. But your spouse can IF they are a US citizen. But the senator can only help if you are out of the normal processing times.

your senator can try. no guarantee it will be successful but it seems to help from time to time. good luck
