Quick Approval
US citizen married to F-1 student. Pretty simple case. Been together for over two years when filed, married in February and filed in April. No shared bank accounts or really any financials. No real wedding, just self-uniting marriage signed in our house. One affidavit from Us citizen’s parents. Tons and tons of pictures, proof of travel multiple times to student’s home country together and many other places, and lots of other relationship proof. We didn’t live together at the time of filing but my spouse did move into my parents house where we both now reside after graduating which we later submitted evidence of. Our interview notice actually came the day after uploading that big batch of unsolicited evidence from family visiting. that was the only time we uploaded evidence besides right before our interview so I believe that upload triggered our interview notice to be sent somehow. EAD card was never approved, just got the green card. Easy interview. Let me know if you have any questions

@Rocco Forté It was for the I-864 affadavit of support. I filed the I-864EZ because I thought I was eligible since my W-2 income was covering the requirements but it turned out since I had a few hundred dollars of interest income from a savings account also reported on my taxes I needed to file the regular I-864. We responded immediately online before the physical notice even arrived. filled out the regular I-864 and resubmitted all required documentation in one big document

@Bee Bee all of our marital evidence was uploaded through the I-130 but the response to the RFIE was uploaded through the I-485 online. we initially filed I-130 online and I-485 on paper
Rocco FortéAug 4, 2026
@B M Did you bring the copies of what you submitted, to the interview?
B
B MAug 4, 2026
@Rocco Forté No, we only brought all of our identity documents, and original documents for things like our marriage certificate and birth certificates. I submitted additional evidence the night before through the unsolicited evidence section in the I-130 rather than bringing it in person. When interviewer asked if we had additional evidence I said I submitted online last night and he said he already saw that. During the interview he only asked for our passports and drivers license’s and later asked us to show him a couple pictures on our phones from the beginning of our relationship and a recent one.

@B M Woah! This is the first time I am hearing somebody being asked to show stuff from their phones.
