Process to get wife to US after I get green card
I had L1 a and applied for AOS after eb1c I 140 approval. However, we are yet to apply AOS for my wife and kid who have L2 but are not in US.
I just came to know that they won't be able to use L2 to travel to US to meet me once I get green card.
If they can't come to US for another year except for short visits, what is the best way to apply for green card for them and have a status on which they can travel to meet me?

Best is to apply green card for them when they are here. The other option is consular processing but that process is much longer.

I would get legal advice. since you’re not a citizen, visa overstay is not forgiven. they can’t come here and then apply. you might have to do consular processing which takes years. @R A

are you still in L1? if you are waiting for i485 decision they can still come on L2 and you apply AOS for them. If not you will have to do consular which takes time.

The best option is what @optima humanas said. but what if he isn't ready to bring them now? It's either AOS or consular processing
