proccing expedite request
Hi everyone, I wanted to ask if anyone has had a similar experience to mine with a Refugee Travel Document as a refugee applicant. I applied for a Refugee Travel Document in August 2024 as a refugee, so it has been 11 months now. After my biometrics, I haven’t received any updates at all. Two months ago, I submitted an expedite request because my sister, who lives alone in the UK, is pregnant and due to give birth on August 10. She has no other family there to help her, and I really need to be with her. Unfortunately, USCIS has not responded to the expedite request either. My lawyer has called USCIS twice and they told us someone would reach out, but no one has. Has anyone here received a Refugee Travel Document recently as a refugee? How long did it take? Has anyone successfully expedited a Refugee Travel Document under similar circumstances? Or does anyone have any advice or experience with this situation? Any information or help would be so appreciated. Thank you so much

I hope you will be approved as soon as possible. I have been suffering from the same issue for 10 months and I am in exactly the same situation as you in Nebraska service center

@M Y i've got a ton of experience on this unfortunately lol. you should talk to tier 2 officer and ask for them to send fax request for evidence so you can send them in. also tell the tier 2 officer you'd kindly request them to pass this to the adjudicating officer so that they can decide on it. that's what has worked for me and members of our immigrant community on skool (feel free to check it out for more info): https://www.skool.com/uscis/about . whether they approve it or not is in their discretion. they've been weird about it though sometimes they don't even ask for much evidence just approve, sometimes with all the evidence they deny so best of luck. make sure to follow up yourself every 10 days (they always say you'll hear from them within the next 10 days but nothing happens, be persistent). hope it helps...!

@Immigration Guy how do we connect to second tier? when I call it is always first tier and they told me to just wait for the expedited request decision

@hope fully tell them the time (usually 10 days) has passed and you were told uou'd get a response. then say can you please put in a request/escalate for tier 2 agent as the expedite situation is urgent it's an emergency situation and that normally gets them to push it to tier 2. they then put it in for you and you usually get a call within 72 hours
