hello guys, how does the priority date affect the processing of ones case?
for example, my priority date is April 2019. I understand it is the date you first filed the papers, but what does it do to processing time? Does it mean my case has to be processed during the month of April only?

no, priority date only tells you that in case you were abused by a LPR, then after your 360 approval, if your priority date is before the cutoff date in the final action chart for your country, then they will be able to process your 485 and give you a visa number based on your priority date.
