Pre-Suit Demand Letter Before Self-Filing Mandamus — Worth It?
I’m planning to file a Mandamus myself for my delayed I-485. Before filing, I’m considering sending USCIS a short formal letter explaining that the delay is unreasonable and giving them a final opportunity to adjudicate the case before I file the lawsuit.
Is this generally helpful, or could it cause any problems or unnecessary escalation with USCIS? Would appreciate hearing from anyone who has done this themselves.

@mike g My question is mainly regarding the short, formal letter explaining how unreasonable the delay is before filing the actual mandamus?
i'm planning to send this letter as the last chance for USCIS to move my case forward before I file the actual mandamu?

Notice of intent usually good thing but in my case (I sent it to USCIS 52 days ago) - no movements at all. Just status that they received correspondence. I wrote in NOI that if no movements- I'll file WoM in 30 days. Will do WoM soon apparently.
