If your spouse is out of the country the case will be transferred to the National Visa Center then US Embassy in the country of residence. Your spouse will be called for an interview once the embassy receives the documents. Eid Mubarak!

eid Mubarak puzzles. but i have to apply for visa application right? when i have to apply?
Puzzle HeadJul 9, 2022
I 130 is the application for your spouse. Once approved after the interview a visa will be issued for your spouse to come to the US where the greencard will be received.

puzzle when i have to apply for visa application?
Puzzle HeadJul 9, 2022
You do not have to apply for anything else. You just have to wait for an interview letter. What country is your spouse in?
pipo gJul 9, 2022
Do not give false information@Puzzle head.
This is the way it goes:(assuming your spouse is out of USA)
1)You submit I130,it gets approved,congrats
2)Your case gets transfer to NVC after a week or less.
3)Nvc will send you an email with info how to access your case in order to make payment. You will be asked to make 2 payments. They have to be made separately.
4)Once your payment is complete which takes about a week or less,NVC will ask for documents. And you will fill out DS260,which is the visa application.
5)If your send all the required documents properly,NVC will call your case Document qualified. This may take 3months.(Have to send all the documents they ask, sometimes even the one they didn't ask).
6)After your case gets document qualified,NVC will notify you.You will wait for an Interview letter. The wait depends on your embassy.I have seen people waiting over a year for an interview.
7)Your spouse will go for interview with all the documents that were submitted and updated if needed.
8)After interview, they may hold your spouse passport or not.
9)If passport is hold, that usually a good sign.Sometimes the visa is issued after a week. But if required, the case will go into processing which is more in depth check, which sometimes takes 2 to 5months.
10)Spouse receives passport and travel to USA,Green card 2 years or 10 years arrives.Depend if married less than or more than 2 years.
Then you guys lives happily ever after.

Puzzle HeadJul 9, 2022
@Pipo g not because I did not write a book like yourself means it's false information. Bravo to you saying what I said in longer paragraph when asked for the next step! You cannot give a time frame when you are not sure of the country the application is from. Good luck to you both!

@reazul Yes, you do have to do other things. let me break it down for you. I am a green card holder petitioning for my spouse who lives overseas. The i130 was approved so I had to wait until NVC sends us an email saying that they have created our case in their system.
After NVC gets the case from USCIS, you no longer need to log into USCIS. In fact, USCIS will close the case once NVC sends you the email. The email will show the NVC website, new case number and invoice number.
Once you get that email, you may log into NVC as the petitioner, pay the fee for the Affidavit of Support(i-864) and the fee for the Immigrant Visa(IV). Then you wait for the payments to process up the 3-5 business days depending on your financial institution.
Once the fees are processed, you will then be able to fill out your i-864 and upload it with all the required documents needed (tax transcript, and other things that you will see they ask for).
After that then your spouse (applicant) will fill out the IV and gather and upload all required documents. You will see the list of the documents needed. You may fill it out for your spouse but when signing in just remember to sign in as the petitioner because they will know who did the IV based on your IP address on your computer. At the end of the IV, you will be required to state that you the petioner prepared the form on behalf of the applicant spouse. Don't forget to save it.
Then your spouse ( applicant) may sign in and sign the IV application and submit it. You should ensure that your spouse(applicant) is aware of everything that you put on the IV and she should agree that the information is true and correct before she logs in to sign the form and submit.
After submitting, you will now upload all required documents needed. As I stated before, it will tell you exactly what they need from you and your spouse.
Then you wait until NVC processes your case. That will take some time so just be patient. After processing you know that the documents you provided are documentarily qualified (DQ) or they might ask you to upload more documents. If they ask you to upload more things then you upload the and wait until all of that is approved. After approval, they will send you and your spouse information about interview and medical.
Your spouse will get an interview date with the US embassy in their country and she has to schedule the medical with the specific clinic that's used for immigration in that country.
Your spouse will make sure to be early for both appointments. Do the medical first so that the embassy may get the information before your spouse goes in for the interview.
Final step is getting approved by the US embassy and then wait to receive the passport with the Immigrant Visa.🎉

you're welcome
J DJul 9, 2022
Keep an eye on your email. NVC will email you with the CASE ID & INVOICE ID. Keep a record of that email because you can’t login to CEAC without those credentials.
J DJul 9, 2022
Get ready to pay the fees. $325 + $120
J DJul 9, 2022
Start gathering the documents as soon as you can, which you have to submit online.
If your income is above the poverty guidelines for I864, that’s good. If not, start looking for a joint sponsor.
