Pending asylum and Employee sponsored green card
Hi All,
I need all your support please. I have a pending asylum case filed on time before my 180 days expired. After 4 years of filing asylum, my company sponsored me for Green card and have I 140 approved two weeks ago. Now, I am going to file adjustment of status (I 485). However, this approach has its challenges since pending asylum cases don't give lawful status to do adjustment.
However, I saw a post in this forum and also somewhere else (cases in 2021) where applicants got positive results going the same route. Their argument is that, their unlawful status came because USCIS didn't resolve their issues on time but not b/c of their fault.
My question is, has someone gone to this path recently? Any experience or suggestion on it?
Thanks!

don’t do the i485 AOS approach if you don’t have any other legal status than the pending asylum. People were getting rejected through this route since 2022. More information available on Facebook group Pending Asylum to EB-1/2/3
