โPending assignment to an adjudications officerโ means your case is waiting in the queue for an officer to review it. It usually means the preliminary steps are done and the file is waiting for an officer to pick it up and make a decision.
However, it does not mean approval will happen immediately. Once an officer is assigned, they will review the case and then either approve it, request more evidence, or take another action. Depending on workload, it can still take weeks or sometimes a few months before you see the next update.
