no, around 3.5k AOS and 5k CP applications are remaining for 2021. 2026 is going be for 2021 applicants. If you haven’t filed yet, you might be able to file in Q4 of 26, but FAD will be current only in 2027, I am guessing Q1 2027.

good luck with 5k cp case during Trump era . USCIS is focusing on AOS only. so you definitely have a chance in 2026

I don’t feel hopeful before april for pd 2021 September! Probably, you would be able to file next year oct and fad will be 2027 july.

@Paan Singh according to USCIS, there was an exact total of 4,785 pending i-485 cases (doesn't matter AOS or CP) as of Jan 2025, a good amount of those have already been approved by now as these approval posts suggest. So your numbers are way off, and I pulled mine from USCIS website.

@G C I got mine from USCIS, they publish them annually, it hard to find the right article on the website but I downloaded an Excel file with USCIS letter head on it.

I am not sure about cp cases because there is no data available. my question is if 90% of the backlog is cleared why the visa bulletin is not making any progress?

@sam young my guess is that 3200 applicants x3 for dependents bring it up to around 10k cases, still alot imo.

@sam young @BDV PUBLIC ENEMY #1 most of this backlog is caused by embassy, we dont have waitlist(they used to post yearly not anymore )nos so cant guess. 1yr back uscis 485 data had about 5000 now 3200. we can only guess based upon this conselor or filing date so dec 2021 for this fy looks reasonable
