Past (2015) cured Tuberculosis History While filing i-485
Hi, I am really worried about something. If any one of you faced the similar situation like me I would be grateful.
I had tuberculosis in 2015, which was fully treated and cured in my home country. I’ve had no health issues since then. Though i do not have the prescriptions back then because it was long ago and we do not have any EHR, I did a checkup in 2021 and the doctor said basically the scar you see on your lungs is basically due to the previous damage done to you by the virus. But it is not harming you. I had that checkup report of 2021.
I’m planning to file Form I-485 under the NIW category, and I’m worried about how a past (but cured) TB diagnosis might be viewed during the immigration medical exam?
I have seen from the UsCis that they only give in-admission to active cases only. Treated or previous one are admissible and marked as latent TB.
Any helpful insights from you would be great from you or your known peoples experience if any. I already got the appointment of a doctor from south asia as I am from south asia. Should i explain him my previous treated TB history and the previous 2021 checkup reports so that he can understand?
Thanks

I'm not sure that this disease has any effect. As far as I remember, you only get tested for AIDS and venereal diseases.

If i do not mention it, it will eventually come positive when they will do the blood testing for tuberculosis. Is not it good to let them know so that they do not get confused that it was a previous scar caused by a cured case in 2015?

Make sure to mention it to your physician. They will probably ask for more detailed past diagnostic results, or they may recommend another scan to ensure everything is clear. It should not be a problem if your scan shows you are cleared

Thanks. For the past results in my country we do not have electronic recorde. So i lost my 2015 records. But I had a checkup in a private clinic in my country i. 2021. I had the prescription and x ray replrt of
that time. The xray report says it is fine after consulting with doctor in my country. the scar that shows is basically the damage done previously .

thanks for the clarification. Yes, I have taken six months of medication back in 2021. In my area, there are no Indian doctors. I got a Pakistani doctor, which is 20 miles away. is that fine

Hi AZ. I had an appointment with the doctor. After telling him that I had precious cured TB history around 10 years ago and showing him the checkup reports of 2021 he used his stethoscope and heard my lungs. Then he said i did not hear anything in your lungs. As you had previous TB I am marking you as latent TB. Then he marked me latent TB in the form but told me to get an xray. Then I will be all set.
