yes, u have to fill that for as fast as possible, sorry to tell u that , but it will take more than a year to process in all service center Except for calfornia service center which need only 4 months to process the i-824.

@amber tahir @MH Had I haven't received form I-797 yet. I checked my uscis acct last night and our I-130 was just approved yesterday.

very common error . now they're going to charge extra $400 and you will need to wait couple of extra month.. unfortunately

@Anne Muhrin Macatangay if u find it in ur online account so its mention that so thats mean u have to fill the form, did u fill i-130 online or not ?

@MH Had i filled out i-130 online, and it was approved but retained due to the error. i'm supposed to include a copy of form i-797 when I submit the i-824, so i'm waiting for that in the mail. i'm looking at the document that they uploaded in my account and it doesn't have a label so i don't think that's the official form i-797 even though it has all the details that I need to put in the i-824 form application.

@Lejla Duratovic the fact that it happens a lot is really frustrating, it means that there's not enough instructions around that portion of it and it's upsetting because all we want is for our families to be with us.
