Why do you think it was a mistake? While it's not much faster - apart from getting you into the que immediately vs how long it would take for the mail to reach them and get inputed in the database manually, the rest is all the same whether online or mail.

@Shagufta T I know some people who filed through mail and got responses right away, while I filed online and not a single update aside from my receipt notice. didn't even get my access code yet

PD is May 2024 still waiting.. lawyer filed by mail.. she said it doesn’t make a difference other than adding extra stuff if your case needs it. good luck!

We filed online July 2024 (California Center), and we're still waiting. It says 3 weeks left, but not sure if it's accurate. So we'll see.

@daneca dgp They were probably not a consular processing I-130. There are different categories, and the consular processed ones are the slowest. Right now they are approving around 22nd October 2023 - you have a long wait ahead.
