It's important to note that these provisions appear to be a change from previous USCIS policies that, as of September 27, 2023, increased the maximum EAD validity period to five years for certain categories, including:
* Refugees (A03)
* Aliens paroled as refugees (A04)
* Asylees (A05)
* Recipients of withholding of removal (A10)
* Applicants for asylum or withholding of removal (C08)
* Applicants for adjustment of status (C09)
* Applicants for suspension of deportation or cancellation of removal (C10)
The "Big Beautiful Bill Act" seems to introduce new, shorter validity periods and fee requirements for specific categories like humanitarian parole and TPS, regardless of prior application dates or existing USCIS guidance. Therefore, for those who applied prior to the "Big Beautiful Act" but fall under categories like humanitarian parole or TPS, their EAD validity period may now be subject to the one-year maximum set by this new legislation, along with new fee requirements and no fee waivers.

for Asylum categories. There will be payment for initial EAD which use to be free and validity has been reduced to 6 months from the current 5 years.
