Hi Tijana congrats!! My fiancé and I are also from Serbia and our case is also at the California Service Center. Honestly your timeline helped, I used it as a reference to count the days since our application submission to at least have some approximate time when we might get an answer 😂 Once your case was transferred to the National Visa Center, did they request any documentation as well or no?

Why is too long? I was told by a lawyer it takes 30 days only to receive a welcome letter.

Hi everyone, @Mina, USCIS took 439 days to approve our case, which is almost 15 months. After that, NVC took 84 days to send it all to Belgrade. Once the case was transferred to NVC, they did not request any documents, since we already sent all our documentation when we applied for K1 with USCIS. Now they say it will take several weeks for Serbian embassy to receive the case and schedule the interview, but let’s see how that goes, every step is just so slow…I filled in DS-160, now I have to wait for the embassy to contact me. @Farid, we were told 30 days max as well, but as you can see, it took them 84 days. We have sent multiple inquiries to NVC, but all they told us was that we will be informed once they transfer the case to Belgrade and they sent us new case number. When we applied for K1 visa, our lawyer told us we would get it in 6-8 months, it has been almost 2 years now since we started the whole process…a never ending torture… If i can help in any other way, please ask whatever you wish to know. :) Good luck to everyone!

@Tijana Kljajevic are you the petitioner or the beneficiary? also have you gotten interview date yet? I’m at 79 days waiting and seen lots of people get their welcome letter and nothing for me yet
