yes after 2 days it will change to approval in the USCIS website and then have to wait like 2-3 days and it will say case sent to nvc after that they will send you a welcome letter mines took 10 days to reach my email. ☺️☺️ Good Luck 🎊🎊🎊🎊

you can receive it on your email just be checking on your mail the mail will give you your nvc case number and invoice id number just be checking your email you will receive it by Monday to Wednesday

Hey Laura, I am not sure which visa you applied for but I hope you get the NVC Welcome Letter soon. My fiancee and I applied for the K1 visa and received I-797 Notice of Action informing us that USCIS approved our petition on January 29, 2023 but we still haven’t received the NVC Welcome Letter yet… i’ve been reading in the forums and have seen others saying it took them 2-3 months to get their Welcome Letter. It’s been two months for us now so I’m hoping we will get it any day now…

@Philip A then I also hope that you will get your letter soon!! We were at least given a maximum of 45 days and then we can reach out and inquire…

My case was approved on 31 Jan 2023 but I didn't got any welcome letter yet but I enquired through nvc public enquiry and I came to know my case number and my case was sent to my embassy in my country..people applying for k1 visa should get documents ready as our approval letter itself says it is valid for period of 4 months.. good luck everyone

mine stay waiting 17 days now welcome letter

It depends , some folks need to file I 824 form for uscis to send an approved petition to state department and it takes 6months or more. All you get from state dept is an email.

Update for everyone who’s interested: 03/31 Status changed to “Case approved” 04/03 Status changed to “Case was sent to Department of State” 04/04 Welcome letter arrived via E-Mail

So it took four days for us after approval and only hours after sending to the DoS :)

wow we have the same exact timeline except I haven’t gotten my welcome letter yet. hopefully I’ll get it later today or tmrw!!

@Laura Wow you got it so fast! What does the Welcome Letter say? Have you tried logging into CEAC with the Case Number and Invoice ID Number? When I do that, the system says that I need to file DS-160 because K1 visa is a non-immigrant visa. I was under the impression you do things like submitting Affidavit of Support and financial documentations through CEAC website but that doesn’t seem possible as you can’t login to the immigrant visa section on the CEAC. I haven’t gotten my Welcome Letter still so I ended up doing more steps like DS-160 already and even made an account on the Turkey Embassy’s official interview scheduling website. Any insights??

@Philip A The welcome letter has all your login information / case number etc on it which is the information you need to log into CEAC / NVC. Before you get the welcome letter you won’t be able to log into that account. I’m not sure how it is for the K1 visa but for the GC it’s an affidavit of support plus a DS-260 we need to file. First thing you need is the welcome letter however plus then you’ll probably have to pay some fee (at least that’s what we had to do). Maybe look it up on nvc.state.gov - I’m sure they can help you further.

did you file your petition through USCIS online account? my status still showing approved and nothing changed in it. as most of you say it changed to sent to DOS. my case was approved on 4th April.
