NVC Update
Hey Guys! just wanted to share my timeline so that it can give you some perspective on how things progress and what to expect once your case reaches the NVC. Hearing the stories of others helps to give a sense on how long things may take since there isn't much info found online. February 28th, 2024: I130 submitted to the USCIS March 7th,2024: Active Review 1 May 12, 2025: Active Review 2 May 12th,2025: case approved (approval under documents tab. 440 days to approval. California service center). May 15th,2025: case sent to the Department of State (NVC). May 15th,2025: NVC welcome letter. May 30th,2025: Submitted all required documents. June 11th: DQ (12 calendar days, 8 working days). Now, just waiting for the interview letter. According to the timeframe posted by the NVC, its currently taking about 13 days to review documents. This timeframe is the most accurate piece of information. So, if you're waiting for DQ notice, your best bet would be to look at https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/nvc-timeframes.html to get a sense of how long it will take before your documents are reviewed. Interview dates depend on the embassy that your case would be forwarded to. To see how long your embassy is taking to schedule interviews please visit: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/iv-wait-times.html I hope this information is useful for those of you looking to find info on what to expect when it comes to the NVC stage. Keep in mind everyone's timeline will be slightly different but I hope this gives a general sense of how things go. It's definitely a long process. Patience is the key. While you wait, the best thing to do is gather all the documents that would be needed for submission to the NVC. Apply in advance for the required police certificate so that it's in hand and ready for submission to the NVC.

Vanessa PJun 12, 2025
@N 🇺🇸x 🇿🇲 you have to submit all financial and civil documents. This includes, pay stubs, w2s, job letter and tax returns for the most recent tax year. Civil documents included marriage certificates, birth certificates, passport biographica page, proof of citizenship, and divorce decrees if any. My case is consular processing so yea, this was for a spouse outside of the USA. @p amoo The fees were $325 for the DS-260 (immigrant visa application) and $125 for the Affidavit of support. @p k Guyana 🇬🇾

I’m March 25, 2024 consular processing in Guyana also. Very encouraging. We haven’t gotten approved yet, but went ahead and applied for police clearance. Keep us posted in interview dates

My case was approved on April 18th and to date I have not received the letter.
Vanessa PJun 12, 2025
@Bob Lois I'm not sure what a movement certificate is but im assuming you don't need it for the NVC since it wasn't something I was told I need to upload.
Vanessa PJun 12, 2025
@Carissa A you should hear something soon. They're working on end of March right now. The police clearance is what held things up for me because I wasn't aware you needed it for the NVC. I'll definitely keep you posted. I heard Guyana is pretty quick with appointments.
Vanessa PJun 12, 2025
@Jael Silva Parra you should reach out. It's odd that you were approved but haven't received the welcome yet it after such a long time .
Jael Silva ParraJun 13, 2025
@Vanessa P Today NVC is taking 45 to 60 business days (Monday to Friday) is what they told me, I suppose that due to the change of government, there are several delays
Vanessa PJun 13, 2025
@Jael Silva Parra wow that's a pretty long time for the welcome letter! When my case was sent to the NVC, its got the welcome letter just a few hours after. I've also seen a few people who received the notice fairly quickly. Hopefully, they send yours soon. I'd keep reaching out every now and then to nudge them.
